Mechanical issues caused a Cessna aircraft to make an emergency landing near Jack Brooks Regional Airport Monday afternoon.

Texas Department of Public Safety initially received a report of a possible plane crash around 3 p.m. and learned there was no crash but emergency landing in a field between U.S. 69 and West Port Arthur Road.

There were no reported injuries and no damage to the aircraft, according to a press release from DPS.
