PORT ARTHUR — Maria Nieves Luna (Arvizo), 83, of Southeast Texas, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 16th, 2011 .

Nieves was born on August 5, 1928 in Hungerford, Texas to Pedro Luna and Luisa Sanchez.  She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Nieves enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Nieves was preceded in death by her parents, one son Cruz Arvizo, Jr. and one grandson Michael Geraci and one granddaughter Dedra L. Arvizo. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol Branham & husband David of Port Neches,Tx; Paul Arvizo & wife Laura of Port Neches,Tx; Lupe Arvizo of Lake Dallas,Tx; Oscar Arvizo & wife Amanda of Nederland,Tx; Thomas Arvizo of Beaumont, Tx; Louisa Longoria & husband Lorenso of Rosenberg,Tx; Jesse Arvizo & wife Angela of Orangefield,TX.   She was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Levingston Funeral Home at 2001 Nall St. in Port Neches, Tx. on Tuesday, December 20th from 4:00PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.   A Mass of Christian Burial  will be held on Wednesday, December 21st  at 2:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 4100  Lincoln Ave. in Groves,Tx. Reverend Stephen McCrate will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
