PORT ARTHUR —
A man is dead following what witnesses called self-inflicted and accidental.
Port Arthur police were called to the scene in the 1700 block of Village East Blvd. to investigate a reported shooting at about 10:20 p.m. on the night of Wednesday, Oct. 24. Once there they discovered a 20-year-old Port Arthur man with a gunshot to the head, according to a PAPD press release.
The victim was later pronounced dead by Judge T. Gilliam. PAPD’s Crime Scene Unit was called to collect evidence and photograph the scene. The incident is still under investigation by PAPD’s CID Division.
