PORT ARTHUR —
Port Arthur Fire Department was called to Pleasure Island in reference to a vehicle fire Thursday, May 18 at approximately 12 a.m.
According to a press release from Port Arthur police it seems the vehicle left the roadway and fell into an opening in the ground.
Upon arrival PAFD discovered an occupant within the vehicle and contacted PA police.
There was no damage to the front of the vehicle and it appeared that the undercarriage cause the grass to catch fire, igniting the vehicle.
The occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Burnett and their identity is currently unknown.
