PORT ARTHUR —
A Port Arthur man was shot in the early hours of Thursday morning while investigating what he considered suspicious noises outside his home.
Around 3:31 a.m. Port Arthur police responded to a shooting in the 3900 block of 32nd Street. The 30-year-old victim told officers that as he looked into the noises outside his house he was approached by two men. The victim began to struggle with one of the suspects when he heard gunshots, striking the victim in the buttocks and grazing one of his arms. He was transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, the wounds were not life-threatening.
The suspects fled the scene on foot and have not been located yet.
Detectives from the PA Criminal Investigations Department are handling this investigation and the scene was processed for evidence by the PA Crime Scene Unit. Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of these suspects are asked to call the PAPD.
