Rain in the forecast for Tuesday

An area of disturbed weather will bring a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms to Southeast Texas on Tuesday.

The cloud cover and rain will provide a brief repose from dangerous heat indices, according to the National Weather Service-Lake Charles. The high will be near 93 with a heat index of 103. North wind around 5 mph becoming east.

Tuesday night, 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 78. Southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.
