NEDERLAND — The beautiful and talented Jenna Simmons is real life royalty.
The local teen was crowned National American Miss Texas Teen during the June 26 pageant at the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel in Houston.
She received her official state crown, banner and trophy, plus a $1,000 cash prize at the event. Simmons will also receive her transportation costs to the National Pageant to be held in Anaheim, Calif., during Thanksgiving week along with a special day in Disneyland for two and a tour through the famous streets of Hollywood.
Also at the pageant, Simmons received a $250 cash award for her talent performance and a trophy for first-runner up in the spokesmodel category.
Locally, Simmons is involved in such activities as Nederland ISD’s Summer Recreation Program.
She is the daughter of Brian Simmons and Kathleen Coneavage. Simmons is sponsored by UCB Pharma and her aunt and uncle Eden and Dale Simmons.
In 2005, Simmons was crowned Miss Teen Texas Sunburst USA at a pageant in Houston. She then traveled to Atlanta, Ga., for the National Miss Teen Sunburst USA competition where she won the talent competition and was named in the top 10 for beauty
