Mannings makes back-to-school shopping a breeze

By Ashley Sanders

NEDERLAND — It’s here! Whether the kids like it or not, every parents dream season has returned — it’s time to go back-to-school.

And making the school supply shopping burden a breeze are the employees at Mannings School Supplies in Nederland.

“We are extremely busy this year,” Donna Reue, store manager, said. “Some of our biggest sellers this year are the Mead zipper binders in lime greens and pinks.”

But the hottest trend in school supplies is not what keeps parents rushing through Mannings’ doors. It is their great service.

“We offer this program called the Fax and Relax Plan,” Reue explained. “Parents can call or fax in their school order and we bag it all up for them so that all they have to do is come in and pick up the supplies.”

“It saves a lot of time.”

Reue said the Fax and Relax plan has been in place for the past three years and continues to grow more popular each year.

She added that whatever the student’s need, parents can guarantee Mannings has got it.

“We have almost all of the school supply lists here in the store. And whenever somebody can’t find something they need in the bigger stores they come here,” Reue said. “The bigger stores tend to run out of some supplies by the start of back-to-school and we tend to keep a steady supply of everything.”

Whether a teacher or a student, Reue said Mannings caters to even the most particular of shoppers.

To pick up school supplies at Mannings, drop by 3704 FM 365 in Nederland. For more information on the Fax and Relax Plan, call 722-5599.
