Indian Players prepare for the ‘Moon’

PORT NECHES — PN-G Indian Players are gearing up for their second play of the year, ‘Dark of the Moon’.

Based on the “Ballad of Barbara Allen,” the play is set in the 1940’s and tells the story of a Witch Boy, named John, played by Andrew Gibson, who falls in love with the beautiful human, Barbara Allen, played by Jenny Carson. Through a pact with the other witches, John is granted human form so he can marry Barbara, with a stipulation that she stay true to him.

The theatrical group has opening night set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the PN-G auditorium with performances on Saturday, Oct. 21, and Monday, Oct. 23, all at 7:30 p.m. Another performance is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2:30 p.m.

The dark of the moon is traditionally the last three days of the lunar cycle, immediately preceding the new moon, and the time when the night sky is notably absent of the presence of the moon.
