ORANGE — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 36-year-old man from Kountze for the death of a woman found in a canal about two miles from Interstate 10 in Rose City.
Sheriff’s Office officials reported a man called 911 about 11 a.m. Saturday and said he and the woman had been the victims of a crime.
The man was shortly taken into custody for the woman’s death.
Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt will hold a press conference at 9 a.m. Monday to release the full details of the investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by detectives from the Orange Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Vidor Police Department and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
