WEDDINGS



Broussard-Bearden

Miss Kristine Marie Broussard and Mr. Jeremy Paul Bearden were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at seven o’clock in the evening at Saint Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, Texas. The Nuptial Mass was presided by Reverend Dan Malain and assisted by Deacon Dallas Broussard. The Bride was escorted by her father. Kristine wore a gown by Monique Luo with organza a-line with metallic embroidery and beadwork. The skirt featured multiple tiers with scalloped edges and chapel train. She wore a Monique champagne tiara with beaded pearls and crystals and metallic flowers. Her fingertip veil with scalloped edges were adorned with crystal teardrops and her cathedral veil extender had beaded pearls scattered throughout the length of the veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses wrapped in ivory ribbon. Music was provided by Soloist, Stacie Taylor and Pianist, Christine Bertin. The Ave Maria was sung by Opera Soloist, Judy D’Angelo, cousin of the bride. Holy Scriptures were read by Mrs. Lois Smith and Mrs. Diana Maggio. The Gospel was read by Deacon Dallas Broussard.

The Bridesmaids wore apple red strapless ruched satin embroidered ballgowns. They carried bouquets of cream roses wrapped in apple red ribbon. The Flower Girl wore an apple and ivory satin princess a-line gown with spaghetti straps and lace-up back. She wore a childs flower wreath with rhinestones and crystals with apple red and ivory color. She carried an apple and ivory satin basket with a jeweled flower cluster.

The Maid of Honor was Rebecca Laird. Bridesmaids were Lorelei Stinnett, Tabitha Nash, Katie Maggio, Leah Bearden, Amber Clark, and Lauren Maggio. The Flower Girl was Hannah Smith. The Best Man was Adam Carlson. Groomsmen were Chuck Cobb, Jason Arbuckle, Jason Burge, Dane Hollier, Clyde Bearden, and Wade Merendino. The Ringbearer was Daniel Maggio.

The Ushers were Jason Maggio and Dwayne and Douglas Champagne.

The bride is the daughter of Karolyn and Darrell Broussard of Nederland, Texas. She is the Granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maggio and Mr. and Mrs. Murphy Broussard of Nederland, Texas. Kristine is a 2002 Graduate of Nederland High School and a 2006 Cum Laude Graduate of Lamar University of Beaumont, Texas with the Degree Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management. She is a past President of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is employed by Mehaffy and Weber Law Firm.

Jeremy is the son of Jana and Clyde Bearden of Port Neches, Texas. He is the Grandson of Mrs. L.V. Bearden and the late Williard Bearden of Port Arthur, Texas and also of Mr. Shelton Meaux and the late Leah Meaux of Village Mills, Texas. Jeremy is a 2001 Graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School and a 2006 Graduate of Lamar Institute of Technology with a Certification as a Peace Officer. He is a past member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He is employed by the Port Arthur Police Department.

On the eve of the double-ring ceremony, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Ten Lounge on Crockett Street in Beaumont which was catered by Rio Rita’s Mexican Restaurant. Following the wedding, the reception and dance were held at the Courtyard Café in Groves. The House Party members were Jessica Carter, Angela, Dixon and Jessica Maggio.

After their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Midcounty.

Trahan - Harper

Mr. Ronald L. Trahan of Orange, TX and Ms. Dolores E. Trahan of Groves, TX announce the engagement of their daughter, Suzette Ranee’ Trahan to Bradley Bruce Harper, son of Mr. Milton B. Harper and Ms. Paula G. Harper of El Paso, TX.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Thomas Jefferson and attended Lamar University studying Criminal Justice and Academic Studies. She was president of the Criminal Justice Association at Lamar while attending. She is a Sales Counselor for Conn’s Appliance.

The prospective groom is a 1985 graduate of Eastwood High School and attended University of Texas at El Paso. He served in the United States Navy from 1988 - 1992.

The groom to be is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Harper of El Paso, TX and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dub Lindley of Waco, TX. The bride - elect is the granddaughter of the late Mildred Adams of Kaplan, LA; the late Remy Trahan of Abbeville, LA; the late Gilbert Diaz of Port Arthur, TX and Isabel S. Diaz of Bracketville, TX.

The couple plans to marry at 2:00 p.m. on October 28th, 2006 at Bay Vue Methodist Church in Crystal Beach, TX.



Charlot - Conner

Veronica Lynn Charlot became the bride of Leroy Alvin Conner on the 29th of August, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at the Little Pink Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The bride is the daughter of Floyd and Patricia Fontenette, Sr. of Port Arthur, TX. The groom is the son of Mrs. Nevada Conner and the late Leroy Conner Sr. of Port Arthur, TX.

Music was provided by Chapel Wedding. Attending the bride was Bennie Gallentine and serving as groomsman was Larry Cain. The bride is a 1976 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She is employed by Gulf Coast Oncologist.

The groom is a 1974 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He holds a Certified Welder degree. He is employed by BASF. Following their honeymoon in Las Vegas, the couple will reside in Port Arthur, TX. A reception will be held on November 25th, 2006 at S&G; Auditorium with Brides attendants Karen De Jean, Michelle Francis and Grooms attendants Dunkin Conner, Aikeem Wilson.



Shoemaker-Freeman

Mr. and Mrs. Randy A. Shoemaker of Groves, TX announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay K. Shoemaker to John Ryan Freeman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Freeman of Groves, TX.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Port Neches - Groves High School and attended Lamar University. She is employed by Beaumont Bone & Joint.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Port Neches - Groves High School and will graduate from Lamar University. He is pursing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He is employed by World Gym.

The couple plans to marry at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2007 at Presbyterian Church of the Convenant in Port Arthur.



Figueroa - Garza

Mr. and Mrs. Jose Lopez Figueroa of Port Arthur are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Veronica Ann Figueroa to Roy Garza, Jr., son of Roy Garza Sr. and Bertha Villareal-Garza of Groves.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and is attending Lamar University. She is majoring in Elementary Education. She is employed by the Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce. The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering and is currently employed by Market Basket. The couple plans to marry at 6:30 p.m. on November 11, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
