The words in the title of the Port Arthur Little Theatre’s newest play, “Love, Sex and the IRS,” do not mean what you think they do.
“Love,” applies to the two main characters, John and Leslie, and their so called “affair.”
“Sex,” in this case refers to gender.
“IRS,” refers to the unsuspecting auditor, played by Donny Avery, whose character is transformed during the two-act farce play that will make you think twice about lying on your taxes.
“It’s a huge misunderstanding,” explains Avery, who plays Floyd Spinner, an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. “They just keep digging the hole deeper and deeper, with lie on top of lie, and it just gets completely out of control.”
