Funshop for kids to focus on environment

Students from pre-k to high school are invited to attend the “Enviro Funshop” presented by Texas Recyclers Association, Inc. The “Enviro Funshop” is an environmental day camp with fun hands-on activities that teach about air, land, water and natural resource conservation and preservation. Activities are TEKS/TAKS aligned and include skits, enviro-friendly games, and puzzles. 

Participants receive prizes from the Enviro Funshop Treasure Chest to continue environmental efforts including environmental activity books, seeds and gardening tools, recycled paper and pencils, energy efficient light bulbs, solar yard lights, rechargeable batteries, “naturally-powered” activities such as books, jump rope, sports equipment, hula hoops and much more.

The Enviro Funshop will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, July 20 – 22, at the Port Arthur Public Library, 4615 Ninth Avenue in Port Arthur.  This event is free to attend, but class size is limited and registration is daily.

The public is welcome to celebrate with participants at the Awards Ceremony at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22.
