BEAUMONT —
Bun B, the legendary rapper from Port Arthur and one half of the groundbreaking rap group UGK (Underground Kingz) will visit Beaumont sneaker boutique Sole Purpose from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28,
Bun B and UGK, who have partnered with Jay-Z and Three-6 Mafia, are relying on their Port Arthur roots for their “down south credibility.”
Sole Purpose is a premium sneaker and lifestyle boutique in the heart of the West End of Beaumont. Sole Purpose is the first store of its kind in the Golden Triangle area. Placing a premium on exclusivity and elite hip-hop styling, Sole Purpose’s retail location feels more like an art gallery than a retail store. And that’s why Bun B will be appearing at the store Saturday.
Bun B was born Bernard Freeman and together with Chad “Pimp C” Butler won national acclaim as the southern hip hop duo UGK.
To coincide with the release of his new album, Trill OG, the rapper has collaborated with Meister Watches and Amongst Friends to release Bun-B-designed watches, T-shirts and snapback hats. Sole Purpose is one of the few outlets in the country – and the only local outlet – to carry the items. Trill OG got a 5 mic rating from The Source magazine – the first album in five years to get the prestigious rating. The event will consist of a meet-and-greet with the rapper and an autograph session for people who purchase the products on hand.
Sole Purpose, 5955 Phelan Blve. Ste. P, is a premium sneaker and lifestyle boutique in the heart of the West End of Beaumont. Sole Purpose is the first store of its kind in the Golden Triangle area.
