GROVES — Friends of Groves Public Library will host their annual spring Shower of Savings book sale Wednesday - Saturday, April 27 -30 at the library, 5600 West Washington. Wednesday is designated as Friends only day, with memberships beginning at $5 available at the door. Sale hours are Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 - 6; Friday, 8:30 -5; Saturday, 11 - 3.

Book lovers will have a nice selection of many genres from which to choose, including cook books, current hardback novels, westerns, biographies, and inspirational fiction and non-fiction. A superabundance of paperback romance and general fiction, priced at 25 cents each, should please many readers. There are also large-print books and children's books, arts and crafts, true crime, history, classics, videos, books on cassette, and magazines of general interest. Shoppers are also reminded to look for the traditional pink tablecloth table for special purchases and opportunities.

All proceeds benefit Groves Public Library. Funds are used to purchase items not covered in the library's budget, such as all the furniture in the foyer and on the front porch of the library. The Friends also recently completed a Groves Historic Photo Gallery in the library foyer.

For more information call the library @ 962-6281. The library website is www.groveslibrary.org.
