Christus Hospital St. Mary
St. Mary has restored operations to the emergency department to treat injuries and ailments in the Mid-County area. At this time, St. Mary is not able to provide extended-care for any patients.
For minor injuries, patients will be treated at the emergency department and released back into the community. For more serious injuries, that require a hospital stay, the emergency department will treat and then transfer to CHRISTUS Hospital – St. Elizabeth. At this time, six ambulances as a part of the state strike team are waiting to transfer patients needing extended care to St. Elizabeth from St. Mary.
St. Mary has been initially assessed and does have some water and roof damage. Roof and remediation crews are beginning repairs, and an emergency generator is providing basic operations for the facility.
The Medical Center of Southeast Texas
The Emergency Department at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is now open and fully operational with lab, CT scanner, and x-ray services to care for residents in need of medical assistance The ER can see patients 24 hours a day. Currently, patients will be treated for illness and injury and then released after treatment. Patients requiring a hospital stay will be transferred to other hospital facilities that can provide inpatient care.
Additional areas of the hospital, including inpatient care, are expected to reopen in phases over the coming days as repairs to the facility are completed and employees are able to return to the community.
