NEDERLAND —
Five public-spirited individuals are vying for two seats on the Nederland School Board. Each should be commended for their willingness to take on this vital, yet often unappreciated task.
One of my votes will be for Marty Byrd. Marty has the credentials and the character to stand up for our schools during this critical time when state support fails to match ever increasing demands. Our students, teachers and district patrons can count on Marty to confront these challenges and help Nederland maintain its excellent educational standards.
Marty Byrd has served his community well, especially through leadership roles in youth programs. Marty has a vision for Nederland that will have all of us pitching in to build upon our treasured past.
Give him the opportunity to be a strong advocate for our next generation by electing him to the position of school trustee.
