I recently read a book, “The Ultimate Battle - Okinawa 1945”. This book goes into detail about the brave young men that fought during WW II for our freedom.
I think President Obama needs to read the accounts of the harsh conditions these men endured. I am sure he, being an “Ivy League” liberal, would not have this as part of his reading material. These men were going to win our freedom no matter the cost and the cost was heavy causalities. Presidents Roosevelt and Truman always took the advisement of the generals on the ground and supplied the additional manpower and supplies needed without question. The two presidents made quick and difficult decisions knowing any delay could cost American Lives.
Even the decision to drop the atomic bomb was made timely by President Truman, knowing the decision was necessary to save lives and win the war. Obama would have probably taken years to make this decision. And I assure you these soldiers were not asked by their Commander and Chief to read their enemy their Miranda rights.
Terrorist need to be taken serious and no one needs to worry about their rights. They surely did not think about the rights of nearly 3,000 innocent Americans killed on Sept. 11. The terrorist should not be treated the same as someone who robbed the local 7-11.
Also regarding Obama and the economy, after only one year in office, he can only blame George Bush. From what I hear small businesses would like President Bush back. Obama needs to be a leader instead of a “Community Organizer.” He only blames other people for his short comings, not himself. Why is he so egotistical? His party has been in control for three years now and his specific programs have been in effect for over 12 months, but only more spending has occurred. He blames Bush for the deficit, but he keeps spending taxpayers’ money like there is no tomorrow. He needs to stand up and take the heat or get out of the kitchen.
Neal Morgan, local Democrat, coached the Nederland Bulldogs in the 70s for several years, but never beat the PNG Indians. However, he did not blame the prior coaches or administrators. Therefore, Obama being a Democrat, why doesn’t he follow the footsteps of Mr. Morgan and quit complaining about George Bush and do what needs to be done to help the working man.
Mr. Spooner recently wrote, “The people’s ability to evaluate the merits of competing political and economic opinions is limited or enhanced by how well the education they received taught them to do so.” He goes on to state that people cannot think or wish not to, but rely on Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Who do you rely on, Keith Oberman and Rachel Madow of MSNBC? Mr. Sponger’s articles seem to indicate he relies on these radical liberals. Look at the television ratings and ask yourself who do the American people watch and listen to. Every American has the right to turn the channel and watch and listen to anyone they desire. However, if the Democrats got their way censorship would be enforced against the conservatives.
I hope the American voters come to their senses prior to Nov. 2010 and 2012 and elect new qualified politicians — this is America’s only chance.

Should Obama get credit or blame?
In a long Saturday Nov. 12 feature column, the writer suggested that President Obama "could only take credit or blame for those things that are the result of his ideas." He then listed twelve items for consideration in making that assessment. An only slightly edited version of those twelve items will make them more useful for that purpose and that version follows. (1) President Obama inherited Bush's Great Recession....which had actually been created, not by Bush, but by a failed seventy year experiment in socialism. (2) He stabilized the banking system....using borrowed money. (3) He extended unemployment benefits....using borrowed money. (4) He reduced taxes....using borrowed money. (5) He signed a health-care law....funded by borrowed money. (6) A nuclear arms treaty was signed with the Soviet Union....which had been defeated by Ronald Reagan twenty years ago. (7) Job loss steadily decreased and eventually has resulted in job gains....among government workers and funded by borrowed money. (8) Obama saved the three American auto companies....using borrowed money. (9) He passed a stimulus plan....using borrowed money. (10) Several Al Qaeda leaders were killed....by our remarkable military teams trained during the Bush Administration. (11) The President is trying to solve the nation's short and long-term economic problems....using borrowed money. (12) President Obama has been willing to compromise....in order to raise taxes or borrow more money.
Based on the writer's list, does President Obama deserve credit or blame?
