Bethlehem on the Boardwalk a big success

Maria Block

Another year has gone by and “Bethlehem on the Boardwalk,” now in its seventh year, has definitely become a success.

We are now recognized not only locally, but state wide as evident by the inclusion in the Texas Highway 2006 Magazine featuring the Port Arthur event. As a result of the article we attracted visitors from Houston who commented that “Bethlehem on the Boardwalk” was one of the most beautiful Christmas events that they had ever seen. My dream of Bethlehem on the Boardwalk will one day be fulfilled.

Without corporate sponsors and volunteers nothing can happen in a city. This program was a success because of the following corporations and volunteers: Premcor, Huntsman, BASF Fina, Sabina and Motiva Corporations and Bruno Collazo Jr., Garcia and Richard Elizondo, Memorial High School Band, Patti Salter and Tammy Kotzur of the Port Arthur Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Steve Fitgibbons, Sam Houston Elementary Choir, St. Catherine Elementary Choir, Debbie and Arthur Hernandez, Jimmy Dike, Raymond Johnson and Councilman Lewis.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
