Thanks to Mayor Prince for Downtown Christmas parade
On behalf of the Port Arthur International Seafarers' Center, I want to thank and congratulate Mayor Deloris “Bobbie” Prince for re-establishing a Christmas Parade in downtown Port Arthur.
The idea of making it a cultural parade, which celebrates the wonderful diversity of the people here in Port Arthur is a nicely added touch.
As you know, the Seafarers' Center is rebuilding the old KCS Depot downtown, at the foot of Procter at Houston Avenue, as the new Seafarers' Center. We will establish occupancy of the building by March 2008.
So next year, the Seafarers' Center's lights will be on and we will deck the halls for Christmas! We will challenge our neighboring downtown businesses to display their Christmas lights as well, and help to spread Christmas cheer in downtown Port Arthur!
We also pledge to participate in the event, by cooperating with the organizers in any way possible.
We look forward to next year's event and thank you again, Mayor Prince, for your commitment to downtown Port Arthur.
