Upon reading a recent letter pleading with PAISD and Port Arthur to vote for Julia Samuels, I have to object. Have we forgotten what happened two years ago when plans were stalled to build the new Memorial High School at the new location? How she and four other board members forced the resignation of Dr. Willis Mackey who was moving this district forward, which led to a student boycott. The disunity the disgust that went on?
Oh, and let us not forget all those trips she took on PAISD’s money. We do not need Julia Samuels back on the school board causing even more problems. Her actions and attitude in the past tells me that we want progress not regress. Please, on May 10, remember all the wrong that went down under her leadership as board president.
