Grand jury issues felony indictments

BEAUMONT — Felony indictments were issued by the Jefferson County grand jury.

An indictment is not a final conviction of guilt, it is only a ruling by the grand jury that allows the district attorney’s office to proceed with a criminal case.

• Valencia Dione Bailey, 34, of Port Arthur, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony, for an incident that occurred Feb. 2.

• Timothy Neal Jean, 42, of Port Arthur, burglary of a habitation, for an incident that occurred Feb. 13.

• Richard Vasquez, 39, of Groves, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault, for an incident that occurred Feb. 14.

• Ashford Reynolds Chester, 19, of Port Arthur, aggravated assault, for an incident that occurred Feb. 13.

• Esteban Covarrubia, 17, of Groves, aggravated assault, for an incident that occurred Jan. 17.

• Casey Andrew LaFleur, 32, of Groves, assault, for an incident that occurred Jan. 31, 2010.

• Miriam Lizeth Molendez, 28, of Port Arthur, assault on public servant, for an incident that occurred Feb. 13.

• Ramon Ray Chisholm, 26, of Port Arthur, evading detention with a motor vehicle, for an incident that occurred Feb. 19.

• Benjamin Brady Steele, 17, of Bridge City, evading detention with a motor vehicle, for an incident that occurred Feb. 8.

• Veronica Vidalier, 19, of Port Neches, injury to elderly person, for an incident that occurred Feb. 15.

• Donald Eugene Finley, 36, of Nederland, injury to child, for an incident that occurred Dec. 13, 2009.

• Douglas Wilmer Rivera, 37, of Groves, indecency with a child - sexual contact, for an incidents that occurred Oct. 2, 2009 and Nov. 2009.

• Luis Fernando Hernandez, 23, of Port Arthur, DWI with child passanger, for an incident that occurred Feb. 14.

• James Derek Hughes, 25, of Nederland, DWI third or more, for an incident that occurred Feb. 8, in Nederland.

• Brian Patrick Buchanan, 29, of Port Arthur, possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an  incident that occurred Feb. 7.

• Garvin Anthony Bell, 29, of Port Arthur, possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an  incident that occurred Feb. 1.

• Joseph Dennis Guidy, 19, of Nederland, delivery of marijuana, for an incident that occurred Feb. 4.

• Tyrone Deshun Handy, 35, of Port Arthur, possession of a controlled substance, for an incident that occurred Jan. 17.

• Tommy Lee Hayes, 20, of Port Arthur, possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an  incident that occurred Jan. 20.

• Michael Alexander Morris, 20, of Port Arthur, possession of a controlled substance, for an  incident that occurred Dec. 2, 2009.

• Jed Piazza, 45, of Nederland, possession of a controlled substance, for an  incident that occurred Feb. 2.
