WEST ORANGE —
Police are searching for a man involved in an armed robbery Thursday morning.
An unidentified man using a pistol grip shotgun robbed Firestone Credit Union, located at the corner of MacArthur Drive and Broad Street in West Orange, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Thursday.
According Jesse Romero, assistant chief of West Orange Police Department, the armed robber was wearing dark-colored nomex, a maroon ski mask, gloves and sunglasses. He was also carrying a pistol grip shotgun.
The unidentified man, believed to be a white male, was also carrying a camouflage duffle bag. He demanded money from the tellers on duty, grabbed the bag and fled the scene on foot as he ran behind Domino’s pizza and Aarons Rent-a-Center.
The credit union was occupied by three tellers, two other employees and one customer at the time of the robbery.
Police are seeking information. Anyone with information is asked to call the West Orange Police Department at 409-883-7574.
