Less than two weeks after Port Arthur City Councilmembers voted restart its city manager search,Council has given the go ahead to proceed in the same manner, with the same search firm, and no changes to the criteria required of applicants.
At a specially-called meeting Tuesday, Council heard from Jim Mercer, president of The Mercer Group, the management firm hired to head the search.
Mercer was asked whether prior city manager experience was necessary for a new city manager to successfully implement recommendations made in a recent performance and management review report made by The Mercer Group.
