PORT ARTHUR —
One child died and another was hospitalized after the two of them fell into a nonfunctioning swimming pool Wednesday evening.
Port Arthur Police received a call about 6:30 p.m. April 25 about an incident in the 3000 block of Grand Avenue, according to a news release. Officers found a 4-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl hurt.
Both were taken to Christus Hospital-St. Mary. The boy was pronounced dead at 7:15 p.m. The girl remains hospitalized Wednesday night.
Representatives of Port Arthur Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, as well as investigators from Child Protective Services, were called.
The case remains under investigation.
