GROVES —
Groves Police responded to the following calls from July 25 through July 31
Wednesday, July 25
• Two parked vehicles in the 3100 block of Oak were damaged after being hit with golf balls.
• Two weed eaters were stolen from a trailer in the 3200 block of Lay Avenue. A suspect who was seen taking the items ran to a green SUV which left the scene. The suspect dropped the two weed eaters and they were recovered.
• An assault was reported in the 5000 block of West Washington.
• The report of a threat was made.
Thursday, July 26
• A 49-year-old male was arrested for traffic violations, possession of drug paraphernalia and failed to identify after a traffic stop in the 5500 block of 39th Street.
• A Sony CD player was stolen from a vehicle in the 3800 block of Graves.
• Criminal mischief to a vacant house in the 6900 block of 39th Street was reported.
Friday, July 27
• Someone broke into a vehicle in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive and stole a Sony CD player face plate.
• A 16-foot Welbuilt boat, motor and Sportsman trailer were stolen from the 4600 block of Pure Atlantic Road.
• A disturbance was reported in the 6400 block of Verde.
• A gold colored 2004 Acura 4 door was stolen from the 2700 block of Taft.
• A 25-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 6800 block of 25th Street.
• A Garmin GPS was stolen from a vehicle in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
Saturday, July 28
• A Tom Tom GPS was stolen from a vehicle in the 1900 block of Perry. Three males fled the scene after being found inside of a parked vehicle. One juvenile male was arrested for burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest.
• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported after someone cut a tire in the 6200 block of Jackson.
• Someone stole a microwave oven and bath towels were stolen from a room in the 6200 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A black leather sofa, dresser, table, chairs and miscellaneous household items were stolen from a storage building in the 4300 block of North Link.
• Telephone harassment was reported.
• A 35-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 5000 block of Monroe.
• A 57-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 6000 block of Monroe.
Sunday, July 29
• Someone stole a vehicle registration sticker, Bel radar detector, cologne and loose change from the 3400 block of Lay Avenue.
• Someone broke a vehicle window in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway.
• An assault was reported in the 3300 block of Charles.
Monday, July 30
• A disturbance was reported in the 2700 block of Second Avenue.
• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.
• A 61-year-old male was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the 2900 block of Pearl.
• A battery was stolen from a vehicle in the 5100 block of 33rd Street.
• A disturbance was reported in the 5500 block of West Washington.
• A dog bite was reported in the 3700 block of Pure Atlantic Road.
Tuesday, July 31
• A disturbance was reported in the 5900 block of Smith.
• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.
• Craftsman tools were stolen from the 4800 block of Beaumont.
• A 49-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 6200 block of Monroe.
• A 19-year-old male was arrested for assault in the 3700 block of West Parkway.

TIP OF THE WEEK
Motorcyclists and passengers who are under 21 must wear helmets when operating a motorcycle. Riders over 21 may ride without a helmet only if they have a completed a motorcycle safety course or are covered by a health insurance plan providing the person with medical benefits for injuries incurred from a motorcycle accident.
