PORT ARTHUR —
Port Arthur Fire Department was busy fighting two house fires within 30 minutes of each other early Friday morning.
During one of the fires, a firefighter sustained burns to his hands and was treated and released from a local hospital.
The first fire was reported at about 2:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at a home located at 1130 Herget. Upon arrival, the first responding units found the single story house fully involved in flames, according to a press release from PAFD Capt. Troy Irvine, public information officer.
