— Severe thunderstorms associated with a slow moving cold front dumped several inches of rainfall leading to some street flooding on Tuesday.

As of 5 p.m., rainfall totals at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport measured 2.36 inches, according to the National Weather Service-Lake Charles.

Heavy rainfall also caused the Port Arthur Transit to temporarily suspend service, according to information from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Transit services resumed about 30 minutes later, at approximately 4 p.m.

Street flooding was also reported in the city of Orange. The NWS received public reports of water covering the road one-foot deep on the corner of Meeks and International Avenue at about 3:08 p.m.

Water also covered a portion of Texas 87 about three miles northwest of Sabine Pass near Keith Lake at about 5 p.m.

Southeast Texas was spared the brunt of the storm.
