PORT ARTHUR —
A Port Arthur man is in stable but serious condition after being shot multiple times, according to a Port Arthur Police Department press release.
Port Arthur police were called to Rampart Apartments on Thursday, Nov. 15 at approximately 10:26 a.m. in regards to a shooting. When officers arrived they found that a 36-year-old man had been shot numerous times and had the victim transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim may have possibly been lured to the entrance of the apartment complex by suspects. At some point a physical altercation began and the man was shot by the suspects.
They then attempted to flee in the man’s vehicle but ditched it less that a half-mile from the scene of the crime. Witnesses told police that the suspects appeared to have difficulty driving the vehicle due to it having a standard, or stick shift, transmission.
PAPD’s Crime Scene Unit was summoned to collect evidence and photograph the scene. The incident is still under investigation by the PAPD SCU and CID Divisions.
