Port Arthur Police responded to the following calls from July 1 through July 4
Sunday, July 1
• Criminal mischief was reported in the 3400 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A Verizon Galaxy Droid tablet was stolen from an unlocked car in the 4400 block of Jasonwood Court.
• Assault/family violence was reported in the 1500 block of DeQueen Boulevard.
• A vehicle, reported stolen from Groves, was recovered in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street.
• A .380 caliber Ruger gun and $16 in cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4400 block of Sherylwood Drive.
• Aggravated assault was reported in the 1000 block of Ninth Avenue after a person was stabbed through the outer ear with a knife.
• Assault/family violence, third degree felony, was reported in the 3900 block of Drexel Avenue.
• A person was arrested for the theft of a 2011 Chevrolet truck and possession of a controlled substance in the 2600 block of Fifth Street. The officer reportedly located a paper towel containing cocaine in the persons sock.
• Three bicycles were stolen from a home in the 4400 block of Kandywood Drive.
• A .38 caliber Colt revolver was located at Villa Main Apartments, 901 Main.
• Someone shattered a window of a vehicle and stole a tote bag at Babe Zaharias Golf Course, 3500 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.
• Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the 2400 block of 17th Street.
• An iPhone 4S was reported stolen at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
• A person was arrested for criminal trespass at HEB, 4800 FM 365.
Monday, July 2
• Deadly conduct was reported at Southwood Crossing Apartments, 3901 Texas 73.
• Theft of metal was reported at Coral Marine Services, 7366 South First Ave.
• Theft of metal was reported at Rowan Industries, 8010 South First Ave.
• Two 1800 BTU Frigidaire brand heating/cooling/air conditioning units were stolen from a building at St. James Church, 3617 Gulfway Drive.
• A carpet steamer and a 6-foot by 6-foot homemade metal ramp were stolen from Holiday Inn, 2929 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.
• Burglary of a building was reported at the former site of Luby’s restaurant, 3513 Twin City Hwy.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 2700 block of Memorial Boulevard.
• A home in the 3900 block of Seventh Street was burglarized.
• Theft by deception was reported when a person pretending to be a relative of the 80-year-old victim called claiming he had been in a car accident in Mexico and needed money wired to him. The victim sent $2,400 to the unknown person believing it was her relative. The actual relative was not associated with the scam.
• Assault/family violence was reported at Valley View Estates, 5801 Twin City Hwy.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated after reportedly driving into a ditch in the 500 block of Texaco Island Road.
• Two vehicle, left unlocked, were burglarized and several items were stolen including a North American Arms revolver, .45 caliber Taurus with 410 special and a GPS.
• A person was arrested for assault/family violence in the 600 block of West Gulfway Drive after an altercation between siblings over unknown type of pills.
• A home in the 3900 block of Sixth Avenue was burglarized.
Tuesday, July 3
• An iPhone was stolen from the 4800 block of Twin City Highway.
• An assault was reported at Jefferson City Shopping Center, 3700 block of Twin City Highway.
• A 2004 Crown Victoria was stolen from the 300 block of West 14th Street.
• West Side Grocery, 1200 W. Seventh St., was burglarized and a number of items stolen including; Approximately $600 in cash, between 30 to 35 packs of Newport cigarettes, approximately six packs of Marlboro 100 menthol cigarettes, one box of Good Time blueberry cigarettes and approximately $300 worth of Lottery tickets.
• A ladies yellow metal wing with white stones, valued at $600, was stolen from a home in the 2100 block of Cashmere Drive.
• Criminal mischief was reported at Port Acres Little League Park, 6001 ray Ave.
• A wallet was stolen from a person at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
• A Playstation 3 game system and various games were stolen from a residence at Cedar Ridge Apartments, 7603 Ninth Ave.
• Assorted fireworks and clothing, valued at $930, were stolen from a home in the 2800 block of 63rd Street.
• A 40-inch flat screen TV and two Wii game consoles were stolen from a home in the 900 block of West Procter Street.
• Assault/family violence was reported at O.W. Collins Apartments, 4440 Gulfway Drive.
• A person was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 600 block of 11th Avenue. The person was reportedly in possession of 35.34 grams of marijuana, 32 small zip top baggies and a Tupperware bowl.
Wednesday, July 4
• A man attempted to steal two packs of ground beef, a pack of Party Time links and a pack of brisket by placing the items down his sweat pants at Walmart, 4999 Twin City Hwy. When confronted by store personnel the man reportedly gave back one pack of beef and fled the store. As he continued to run meat items continued to drop out of his pants.
• Two motorcycles were stolen from the 4600 block of Hollywood and later recovered.
• State jail felony criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 2500 block of 64th Street.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated-third or more offense in the 2900 block of Jimmy Johnson Boulevard.
• A juvenile was arrested for terroristic threat/family violence in the 8100 block of Chimney Rock Court.
• Criminal simulation was reported after two people altered a check and attempted to cash the check at HEB, 4800 FM 365.
• Assault/family violence was reported near the intersection of 10th Street and Lake Charles.
• Numerous items were reported stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Everglades Drive.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated-second offense after a single vehicle crash in the 6600 block of Ninth Avenue.
• Assault/family violence was reported at Louis Manor Apartments, 1300 Joe Louis Ave.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 3500 block of FM 365.
• Assault/welfare fraud was reported in the 1300 block of West Procter Street.
• A person accidentally shot himself in the ankle while playing with a .45 caliber gun at Express Mart, 7100 Ninth Ave. The victim thought the gun was not loaded and accidentally pulled the trigger.
• A person was arrested for burglary of a habitation in the 2500 block of B Avenue.
• Assault/family violence was reported in the 1200 block of West Fifth Street.
• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Pebblecreek Apartments, 4101 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.
