Three robbed in PA, struck with board

The Port Arthur News

— Three Port Arthur residents were assaulted and robbed Thursday night in the 1200 block of Florida Ave.

Officers received a call at approximately 10 p.m. that a man had pushed his way into the residence of a woman, demanding money. The suspect then struck the woman in the head after she refused to give him money, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Two men, also in the residence, attempted to fight the suspect. The suspect then picked up a large board and struck the two men in the head. He then fled the scene, taking one of the victims trucks.

One of the men were taken to St. Mary Hospital with a head injury, while the others did not seek medical care. The victims are expected to make a full recovery.

The truck is a burgundy 2008 GMC Sierra with an unknown Texas license plate number.
