PORT ARTHUR — Port Arthur Police Department responded to the following calls from June 17-22:
Wednesday, June 17
• An air compressor was stolen from a home in the 3700 block of Lewis Drive.
• The theft of $45,000 worth of copper wire was reported in the 8400 block of First Avenue.
Thursday, June 18
• A Jensen touch screen radio was stolen from a Chevrolet Silverado truck in the 4400 block of Bethany.
• Stereo equipment, flat screen TV, amplifier and other items were stolen from a Lincoln Navigator in the 3500 block of Avalon.
• A woman reported $250 was stolen from her purse in the 1400 block of Poole.
• A city worker discovered marijuana in the 1200 block of Fourth Avenue and alerted police.
• A Dell laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle at a motel in the 3900 block of Texas 73.
• A .40 caliber gun was stolen from a vehicle at a business in the 4900 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A Chevrolet Silverado truck was burglarized in the 2100 block of Thomas Boulevard.
• A passport, laptop computer and Playstation III were stolen from a home in the 2100 block of Stanley.
Friday, June 19
• Felony criminal mischief was reported in the 1900 block of Wignall.
• A vehicle was burglarized in the 3100 block of Fifth Avenue.
• Contract commercial equipment was damaged in the 5800 block of Ray Avenue.
• A CD player was stolen from a Ford Mustang in the 3200 block of Eighth Street.
• A necklace was stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Village East.
• A woman was assaulted at a business in the 400 block of Dallas Avenue.
• A vehicle was burglarized in the 3400 block of 30th Street.
• A home was burglarized in the 2000 block of 12th Street.
• A home was burglarized in the 3900 block of Platt.
• A building as burglarized in the 1100 block of Carver Terrace.
• A vehicle was burglarized at a business in the 3900 block of Texas 347.
• An air conditioning unit was stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Thomas Boulevard.
• A home in the 3700 block of Avalon was burglarized and $7,000 worth of items were stolen.
Saturday, June 20
• A Ford Escape was burglarized while inside a garage in the 3200 block of Birchwood Triangle.
• An electric drill was stolen from a vehicle in the 8400 block of Hollow Bend Lane.
• A 2009 Lincoln MKS was stolen from the 8400 block of Hollow Bend Lane.
• A car battery and $20 were stolen from a vehicle in the 8400 block of Hollow Band Lane.
• Two vehicles were burglarized in the 3900 block of Chevy Chase Lane.
• A woman stole a $100 purse from a business in the 3100 block of FM 365.
• A home was burglarized in the 900 block of 17th Street.
• Two men robbed a business at knifepoint in the 1800 block of Twin City Highway.
• A Toyota Highlander was burglarized in the 3200 block of Birchwood Triangle.
• A vehicle was burglarized in the 3100 block of 32nd Street.
Sunday, June 21
• A refrigerator was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of 12th Street.
• A vehicle was burglarized in the 8400 block of Greenbriar.
• A man was assaulted in the 3800 block of Dryden.
• Stereo equipment and other items were stolen from a vehicle in the 1900 block of Savannah.
Monday, June 22
• A man was assaulted in the 600 block of West Gulfway Drive.
• A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after striking a train with his vehicle in the 2100 block of Spur 215.

Tall, dark and handcuffed; Robber caught in Beaumont
A man suspected in the robbery of two Beaumont banks was apprehended outside Parkdale Mall on Wednesday.
The “tall, dark, handsome” robber is facing federal bank robbery charges for the Beaumont incidents and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Houston is in the process of obtaining a warrant for a Houston bank robbery.
The suspect has been identified as John “Steven” Stark, 46.
Police responded to a call of a robbery about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Prosperity Bank, 6150 Eastex Freeway in Beaumont. -
