WINNIE — Chambers County Sheriff’s Office along with the FBI are searching for a woman who robbed a Winnie bank at gunpoint Thursday morning.
The robbery occurred about 9:11 a.m. Feb. 4 at the Texas Coastal Community Federal Credit Union, located at 120 E. LeBlanc St.
Credit Union employees told police a white female entered the building, displayed a pistol, and demanded money. Employees complied with the demands, and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 5-foot tall, 105 to 110 pounds, with long dark brown hair. She was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, large dark sunglasses, a red windbreaker, and blue jeans. She was last seen running east behind the building. A gray colored passenger car was seen in the area, and may be involved.
The FBI out of Texas City responded to the scene and is working with local authorities to solve the case. Anyone with information on this aggravated robbery is asked to contact the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office at 409-267-8318, or Eastex Crimestoppers at 409-724-TIPS (8477).
