A deputy says a tanker truck wreck in Southeast Texas has closed Interstate 10 and led to evacuations within a two-mile radius.
A spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the truck overturned Wednesday morning between Hamshire and Winnie. The area is about 10 miles southwest of Beaumont and about 70 miles east of Houston.
Deputy Rod Carroll had no immediate details on whether anyone has been hurt or what caused the accident.
Carroll also had no information on what the truck was hauling or any leaks, but says hazardous materials crews have been dispatched.
Carroll told KFDM-TV that drivers should use Highway 90 as an alternate route.
