PORT ARTHUR —
The Golden Triangle should see lower temperatures this week after a front rolls through early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Stephen Carboni, a meteorologist with the NWS in Lake Charles, said the front will arrive anywhere from midnight to 6 a.m. Tuesday and should “move pretty quickly.”
The front will bring a 60 percent chance of rain that could last up to six hours, Carboni said, and temperatures will drop to the mid-60s for the remainder of the week.
“It’s nothing extraordinary,” Carboni said of the temperature change. “It will cool back down.”
Rain will not be a factor once the front passes, he said.
The NWS reported a chance of severe weather for the upcoming week on Nov. 11, including the possibility of hail and isolated tornadoes.
Carboni said the “potential is definitely still there” for severe weather, but he does not think it will be an issue.
“The Port Arthur area is a lower risk,” he said. “All of [the severe weather] would be more to the north.”
