GROVES —
Dozens of vehicles were burglarized in Groves on Monday night.
Groves City Marshal Jeff Wilmore said approximately 25 vehicles were burglarized in different areas of town with an even larger amount of vehicles rifled through.
“All of the vehicles were left unlocked,” Wilmore said. “There were no broken windows or damages. They were just grabbing what items were available.”
Wilmore said persons who notice suspicious activity should call police.
Items stolen during the rash of burglaries include car stereo equipment, tool bag with tools, several gps devices, CD’s, a purse, cosmetic bags, gun and gift card.
The thieves struck the following areas: Washington, Cherry, Lee, Jefferson, Willow, Terrell, Kenneth, Capitol and 39th streets as well as Berry, Joplin, Hickory, Clermont and Roosevelt avenues, Wilmore said.
Police are asking victims to report the crime even if nothing was taken during the burglary. For more information or to report a burglary call 962-0244.

“A person does not change their character overnight,” said Veazey, a retired Port Arthur Independent School District teacher. “We do not accept that she just walked into a room and started beating on a kid. Her students are her life. She wouldn’t do that.”
