On Saturday, June 25, 2012 at 11:40 a.m. an inmate in the Orange County Correctional Facility, Tammy Michelle Williams of Vidor, began complaining of difficulty breathing and was immediately transferred to the Infirmary unit for medical attention.
Upon an intial check by jail medical personnel all vital signs were within normal ranges except her pulse, which was above normal.
She was placed into one of the medical isolation cells so that she could be monitored and was issued her lunch tray at approximately 12:15 p.m. from the jail staff. At approximately 12:40 p.m. the medical staff checked on Williams and found her unresponsive. Medical personnel began life saving techniques on her and contacted first responders.
