Gunfire during an argument in a Southeast Texas city has left a man and a woman dead in a street and police seeking the suspected attacker.
Beaumont police on Wednesday identified the fugitive as 28-year-old Jose Wilfredo Chinchilla of Beaumont. Police say Chinchilla could face capital murder charges in Tuesday night’s killing of a 25-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man.
Chinchilla, who allegedly had a prior relationship with the woman, was last seen driving a green 2005 Ford pickup with Texas license plate: AM2-2629. The truck has a gray driver-side door.
Witnesses say the woman was dropping off two children at a residence when a man approached, they argued and he shot her and a man who tried to intervene.
Names of the victims weren’t immediately released.
