NEDERLAND — The organizers of Nederland Nite Third Thursday are gearing up for their June 16 event and seeking nominations for Father of the Year and the cutest Baby Contest.

Persons wishing to nominate a a person for Father of the Year need to submit a letter telling why the person deserves the title, Nancy Landry, owner of Cropo’s Barber Shop and an organizer, said. Nomination letters for Father of the Year can be sent to the Nederland Chamber of Commerce, 1515 Boston Ave., Nederland 77627 or e-mailed to the chamber at nedcofc@nederlandtx.com

The winner will receive a gift basket with great gifts and cards from local stores,” Landry said.

The deadline for nominations is June 10.

The Cutest Baby Contest is divided into boys and girls categories for ages zero through six months, seven through 12 months and 13 through 24 months. There will be first, second and third place winners.

To enter, submit a form by e-mail to thirdthursday@yahoo.com or obtain and drop off a form at the following Boston Avenue businesses: Cropo’s Barber Shop, 1116 Boston Ave.; Kids Kloset, 1144 Boston Ave.; or Sew Much More, 1336 Boston Ave.

The deadline for entry for the contest is June 10.

Nederland Nite Third Thursday is sponsored by the Nederland Merchant Association.
