GROVES —
Only two of the many workers at the Groves Senior Center are paid staff. The rest are volunteers who cook, clean, pay the bills, and do little repairs - and do it out of their hearts.
Beauford "Bo" Jones is the Treasurer of the center, keeping up with the bills, reports, and keeping up the books. He spends several hours a week working at the center.
A king and queen will be elected this month at the Groves Senior Center for Valentine's Day.
"We try to pay attention to the holidays," Jones said. "On Veteran's Day, the vets get to sit in a specific place."
An average of 60 seniors show for lunch every weekday. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
