BEAUMONT —
A Beaumont Police officer was involved in a shooting Friday morning while responding to a call of a woman being assaulted.
Beaumont Patrol Officers responded to the disturbance call about 5:52 a.m. Jan. 11 in the 3200 block of North 10th Street.
The female victim told dispatchers she had been assaulted and was waiting outside for police. The victim told officers there were three males in the house and they had been drinking. Officers arrived on scene and were speaking with the 22-year-old female victim, according to a press release from BPD.
The 28-year-old male suspect had a shot gun and the suspect was shot by one of the officers. The suspect was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. There were no other injuries. The incident is under investigation.
