NEDERLAND —
The 2010 Competition Team from Keely Jardell's School of Dance recently traveled to Biloxi, Miss., to compete in the Fire and Ice National Talent Competition.
The 42-member team competed with teams from Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. The dancers competed in several categories including solos, duets, and groups. The dancers took home several top awards.
In the solo division, Kayli Chiasson took home fifth overall high score and Cameron Wille took home the second place highest score in teen solos. Each individual group dance took home the highest ranking of Platinum and Diamond status.
The Jazz large group “Fabulous” took home third overall highest score and the Clogging number “Let's Go” took home the first place highest score in the large group category. The large group teen dance “Right as Rain” received the third highest score overall. The team dance “Freak Flag” took home the Diamond award and the first place highest score in the Production category, which also qualified the routine to compete in the Finals.
These dancers competed in the finals with all the highest scoring dances from a variety of categories and schools. These dancers took home the highest award of the competition. Not only were they awarded the highest scoring “Large group/Production routine,” but they were, also awarded the prestigious award of “National Champions.”
Dancers include: Allie Klima, Madison Foster, Sloan Byrd, Kendal Devillier, Holly Jones, Jessica Wiedenfield, Emalee English, Abigail Garrett, Lindsey LeDoux, Marlee Garrison, Marissa Weber, Hallee Hinkle, Stephanie Cowart, Jamie Moss, Kennnedy Hiltz, Lauren Konjoyan, Robyn Pham, Alexis Eberhart, Jayna Lacy, Kayli Chiasson, Angela Pickard, Elizabeth boutte, Brooke Sonnier, Kristena Pavia, Brianna Ferguson, Darla West, Savanna Sanford, Haleigh Jones, Kaitlin Hanley, Mackenzie Jardell, Bailey Perryman, Bethany Cherry, Bailey McBride, Cameron Wille and Rachel Moore.
