Port Arthur Police have released the name of a man who died in a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler on Thursday.
Carl David Owens, 56, of Orange died from injuries sustained when his vehicle struck a tractor trailer rig at about 2:22 p.m. April 12 in the 1900 block of Texas 73. The victim had been traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic on the Texas 73 to Texas 82 access ramp, according to a press release from PAPD. The van was truck head-on by the big rig, which was traveling in the correct direction.
Police do not believe the accident was weather related.
