Groves Police calls, May 16 through May 22

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from May 16 through May 22



Wednesday, May 16

• A black Chevrolet Silverado backed into a carport column on a building in the 5000 block of East Parkway and then left the scene.

• A disturbance was reported in the 6800 block of Whitby.

• A Kenwood CD player, XO Vision 7-inch double screen DVD player were stolen from two vehicles parked in the 2100 block of Owens.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 3900 block of East Parkway.

• A 26-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Pure Atlantic Road.

 

Thursday, May 17

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• Identity theft was reported.

• A 23-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 5400 block of 32nd Street.

• A 22-year-old male was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 6100 block of East Parkway.

 

Friday, May 18

• A disturbance was reported in the 3000 block of Canal.

• A disturbance was reported in the 4600 block of Pinetop.

• Criminal mischief to some backyard items was reported by a citizen in the 3500 block of Cleveland.

 

Saturday, May 19

• A 25-year-old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the area of Main and 39th Street.

• Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3400 block of Lay Avenue.

• Officers responded to a call of a reckless driver and a 42-year-old male was arrested for DWI in the 2800 block of Cooley.

• Aggravated assault with a weapon involved was reported in the 2700 block of Taft Ave.

 • A 20-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Port Arthur warrants and for Failure to ID fugitive from justice in the 4000 block of Gulf Avenue.

 

Sunday, May 20

• Assault was reported by a resident in the 2200 block of Friartuck.

 

Monday, May 21

• The theft of a motorcycle license plate was reported by a citizen in the 5600 block of 32nd Street.

• A Generic Generator GP5000, valued at approximately $800, was stolen from a garage in the 6300 block of Howe.

• Theft of a purse was reported by an employee of a local business in the 5500 block of 39th Street. The purse was later returned but several items remained missing and the case is under investigation.



Tuesday, May 22

Debit card abuse was reported by a resident in the 4500 block of Gulf Avenue. Several debit card purchases were made without consent at local businesses.

• Burglary of a building was reported by a citizen in the 5100 block of 34th Street in which a Poulan Pro weedeater valued at more than $100 was removed from the garage without permission.

• A customer at a local business in the 5000 block of Twin City Highway reported the theft of a purse from inside a shopping basket. A debit card, credit card, $200 and various items were in the contents of the purse.

• A 26-year-old male was arrested for Orange County and Beaumont Police Department warrants in the 6300 block of Hogaboom.
