Port Neches Police responded to the following calls from Sept. 18 through Sept. 24
Tuesday, Sept. 18
• Assault was reported in the 800 block of Ridgewood.
• An officer investigated two reports burglary of a motor vehicle and two reports of criminal mischief in the 700 block of Gulf.
• Theft was reported in the 2300 block of 12th Street.
Wednesday, Sept. 19
• A person was arrested in the 1200 block of Park for Port Neches traffic warrants.
• A criminal trespass warning was issued in the 1300 block of Droddy.
• Criminal mischief was reported in the 2100 block of Merriman.
Thursday, Sept. 20
No reports.
Friday, Sept. 21
• A person was arrested for other agency warrants and a subject for public intoxication in the 2300 block of Nall.
• Fraudulent use or possession of identifying information was reported in the 1500 block of South.
Saturday, Sept. 22
No reports.
Sunday, Sept. 23
• A person was arrested for possession of marijuana and other agency warrants in the intersection of FM 366 and Park.
Monday, Sept. 24
• A person was arrested for other agency warrants in the 600 block of Drawhorn.
• Theft was reported in the 2200 block of Fifth Street.
• Assault was reported in the 2100 block of Sun Avenue.

Association, teacher say Gunner incapable of attack
“A person does not change their character overnight,” said Veazey, a retired Port Arthur Independent School District teacher. “We do not accept that she just walked into a room and started beating on a kid. Her students are her life. She wouldn’t do that.”
