PORT ARTHUR —
Port Arthur police found a 53-year-old man in the road and a damaged bicycle after responding to a Monday night call to the 1800 block of Mobile Avenue.
A witness described a vehicle that ran a stop sign and struck the victim. A few minutes later, officers spotted a vehicle fitting the description several blocks from the scene. Evidence indicated the vehicle was involved in the accident. Officers impounded the vehicle and identified a possible suspect, who was not arrested at the time.
The call came at 10:53 p.m. The victim was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital and later died from injuries.
