PORT ARTHUR —
A Port Arthur man suffered several cuts during an aggravated robbery outside his home early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to the 700 block of Sabine Avenue at about 5:06 a.m. Aug. 15 in reference to a robbery. The 23-year-old victim told officers he was approached by a black male while entering his home. The suspect demanded money from the victim and brandished a knife. When the victim claimed he had no money, a struggle ensued, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.
The victim was cut several times and was transported to Christus Hospital-St. Mary for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene in a nearby vehicle and has not been located.
Detectives from the Port Arthur Criminal Investigations Division are handling this investigation. Port Arthur Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit was summoned to process the scene for evidence.
