Beaumont police responded to a holdup alarm just before 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Bank, 595 I-10 N. Officers were were told the bank had been robbed at gunpoint by a Hispanic male described as 5-foot-10 to 6 foot, 180 pounds, dark complexion, wearing dark sunglasses, a blue button shirt, and short black hair. He displayed a silver handgun demanding money.
After he got the money he fled the bank and was last seen on foot running northwest toward the apartments behind the bank. Officers along with a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
