PAPD respond to dangerous attack on Gulfway

Officers of the Port Arthur Police Department responded to 3708 Gulfway Dr. in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned the robbery occurred on South Levee Rd. in Pleasure Island.

The victim advised he was in the company of “friends” fishing when he was attacked by the suspect.

The victim was beaten and strangled, but able to escape and forced to flee into the Sabine Lake.

The victim advised the suspect had not accompanied the group to the location although the suspect and the victims “friends” left together, leaving the victim in the isolated location.

The victim was able to solicit a ride to 3708 Gulfway and police were then contacted.

Since the victim knew the suspect (s), Groves Police Department was contacted and assisted in locating the suspect vehicle, as well as occupants in Groves.

The victim was transported to the location of detention and positively identified as the perpetrators of the criminal offense against him. Property belonging to the victim located inside of the suspect vehicle.

Officers took two males and a female into custody for aggravated robbery. The subjects were transported to JCSO Jail and booked.

The incident is being forwarded to Criminal Investigations Division.
