Marc DeRouen announced his candidacy for Jefferson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Thursday, joining three others vying for the position.
DeRouen, a lifelong resident of the Port Arthur are, graduated from Lamar and has worked in the legal field for more than 23 years.
He plans to run a positive campaign, focusing on his talents, education and ability to be the kind of judge the people of Precinct 3 need him to be.
“I pledge not to engage in mudslinging or derogatory comments about any candidate for this office, DeRouen said. “It is my firm belief that way a person runs his campaign largely reflects how he will conduct himself in office.”
DeRouen and his wife Christy are Port Arthur residents.
